Burlington County Special Services - Lumberton Campus - Reroofing - Siding
Lumberton, New Jersey
Located on 45 acres on the border between Medford and Lumberton, The Core Building at the Lumberton Campus of the Burlington County Special Services School District on Ark Road in Lumberton, Burlington County, NJ is a 40,000 s.f. facility, housing classrooms, offices, a gymnasium, multi-purpose room and natatorium. Constructed in the mid-1990’s, its original asphalt shingle roof and T1-11 wood siding had out-lived their useful lives. Roofs leaks were prevalent and rot and deterioration of the existing T1-11 wood siding was wide-spread. Many of the existing T1-11 panels had failed and were pulled away from the building structure, exposing the existing framing and sheathing to the elements. These conditions posed a threat to the existing structure, represented a risk for damage to the existing building framing and finishes, and posed a risk for the development of mold. The scope of the work for this project included 1.) The removal of the existing asphalt shingle roofing, and installation of a heavy, 22 gauge standing seam structural grade metal roofing, 2.) The removal of the existing T-11 siding, and replacement with a combination of new cementitious (HardiBoard) siding and metal flush seam wall panels, and 3.) The installation of a new modified bituminous roofing system at the existing low sloped roof areas. The project was initiated during the Summer months of 2010, and was completed during the Spring of 2011.
