In December of 2011, the Middle Township Board of Education entered into a 15-year power purchase agreement with Constellation Energy for their alternative energy power. Roof mounted solar panel structures were installed on the Elementary School No. 1, Elementary School No. 2, High School and Administration Building. Approximately 1,755,400 (kWh) of electricity is expected to be generated each year. The total construction costs were approximately $11,500,000.00.
